So far...

Istanbul, the real Turkish Delight – so much to do!  We visit the all the main sights as well as a cruise on the Bosphorous and  the all-important shopping trip to the Grand Bazaar for the girls to buy their outfits for Iran.  After putting in for our Iranian visa we are now headed for Gallipoli to attend the Anzac Day memorial service that takes place at dawn tomorrow and those not attending, a night at the Boomerang Bar it is!

So far...

Whizzing through France, our  first nights bushcamp was on a farm in Belgium, followed by second bush camp night in Germany (nothing like starting off the way you mean to go on... bush camping or free camping is with no amenities).  

Then onto the wonderful European cities of Prague, Vienna and Budapest  where we all had the opportunity to explore, relax, enjoy the local food . Moving further east to Romania, we spent a couple of hours exploring Draculas castle with Jamo, Steph and Tim taking 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize respectively in the ‘evil laugh’ competition.  After a good look around Bucharest we then enjoyed Velieko  Tarnovo in Bulgaria, the home to Tsaravets Fortress and the best camp ground in Europe! 

The active amongst us went horse riding and  mountain biking, whilst the rest of us enjoyed a lazy day at the campsite enjoying our first proper warm and sunny day so far!

We have just arrived in Turkey and are just loving Istanbul so far!

Leaving London - Sydney bound! www.madventure.travel

Meeting up very early on Saturday morning we packed our gear away on board our new home for the next 6 months - a specialised built Scania 8x4 overland vehicle that is going to take us from London all the way to Sydney.  There are 21 of us so far with a more to join en route.  We plan to go via including UK, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Iran, Pakistan, India, Nepal, Tibet, China, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and Australia! 

First off there's the ferry to catch from Dover to Calais...

Then it's cook group...

And then it's camping...
